In recent years, there has been a rise in Renal Dysplasia cases among Collies. To make a difference, we conducted research and discovered a testing lab in Canada that can determine if parents carry the genetic markers for Canine Renal Dysplasia.

​Our initial tests on Hattie and Hunter revealed that both dogs carry one copy of the genetic marker. Although they won't develop RD, they should only be bred with non-carrier/clear dogs. We will continue testing to identify clear males for Hattie.

Even though this throws another consideration into the playbook here, we feel confident at the end of the day that we are raising the bar and preventing one more disorder from affecting the generations of Collie puppies to come.

This is so exciting to us!  It just heightens our passion and drive to make the breed stronger. 

We also got back our first 7 DMS testing results and these were all "low risk" and 2 carried the little "c's" which is very exciting.
