Collies are just amazing dogs. They're so versatile. They are great for first time dog owners. They watch after their families and protect them. They do well as Service animals, and as Therapy dogs. Ours love hiking, long walks, and active lifestyles. They enjoy helping you with chores and more on the farm and make great helpers. They aren't prone to digging, snoring, drooling, and things like these.
Upkeep on a Collie isn't too bad. They will have heavy shedding about twice yearly, and in between you can just keep them brushed 1-2 times weekly. A smooth collie will have heavy shedding twice a year, and will require regular brushing also, but will not be prone to tangles like that of a Rough Collie.
Our Collies come in many different colors too.
Some Rough/Smooth Colors are:
Sable & White * Sable Merle & White * Black, Tan & White Tri Color * Blue Merle * Sable Headed White * Sable Merle headed White * Tri-headed White * Blue Merle headed White, * and Harlequin.
Some Scotch/Farm Colors are:
Bi-Black * Bi-Blue, *Sable & white, *Tri Color, *Blue Merle & White
Our White Rough Collies are Color headed white and they are healthy and sound, just like our other colors. They are not to be confused with breeding two merle Collies together as this can cause "deaf" and "blind" in some. This is an area we do not venture into.
